Since 2015 Dr. Benjamin Becker is working as full-time professor at the UESTC and head of the Neurotherapy & Social Cognition and Affective Neuroscience Lab. He received his Master and PhD Degrees in Psychology at the Universities of Trier and Duesseldorf in Germany. During his postdoctoral studies at the Departments of Psychiatry in Cologne and Bonn (Germany) his research employed advanced neuroimaging to explore the emotional circuits of the human brain in healthy subjects and determine dysregulations of these circuits in patients with neuropsychiatric disorders. His current projects aim at translating these findings to enhance emotional control in healthy subjects with the ultimate aim to improve the treatment of mental disorders such as anxiety and addiction. To this end his team employs an entire array of affective and cognitive neuroscience methods including neural decoding as well as novel pharmacological neuroenhancers and technology-based approaches such as real-time functional imaging-based neurofeedback. Dr. Becker’s research is supported by competitive research grants from German and Chinese funding agencies. He has published over 150 scientific publications, including book chapters as well as publications in high-ranking international peer-review​ed scientific journals such as Advanced Science, Brain, The American Journal of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and  Psychosomatics and Biological Psychiatry. In 2018 Prof. Becker received the “Academic and Technical Leading Scientist of Sichuan Province”.

       Benjamin Becker(德国籍)教授长期从事精神病研究和磁共振技术方面的工作,致力于发现药物成瘾、抑郁症和精神分裂症等精神障碍的神经与病理机制,以此研发针对精神病更有效的治疗方法。他具有扎实的跨学科创新研究能力及对前言科学问题的敏锐洞察力,其所在的生命医学领域是全球研究热点,更是电子科技大学未来重点发展的方向之一。Becker 教授自 2015 年起到电子科技大学全职工作,在科学研究、项目申报和国际合作方面表现优秀,成果丰富。


学术科研

Becker 教授的研究目标为:(1)寻找可以提高抑郁症等精神疾病诊断和治疗效果的生物学标记;(2)将基础行为神经科学研究应用到临床治疗中,研发出改善精神疾病的新方案。这既体现了基础科学前沿,又体现了行业需求,整体工作思路清晰,对于临床诊断与治疗方法有重要的科学研究价值和社会经济意义。

Becker教授在American Journal of Psychiatry, PNAS, Biological Psychiatry, BrainNeuropsychopharmacology等国际一流期刊杂志上发表论文 50 篇,合作出版专著4部,其中对于癔病性失明、精神分裂症、药物成瘾和杏仁核功能方面的研究为领域做出了贡献。Becker 教授最新使用的功能磁共振实时神经反馈技术(real-time fMRI neurofeedback)是一种新兴的神经反馈技术。其团队对该技术进行充分运用,其成果最近已发表在国际一流期刊NeuroImage(Yao et al, 2016)。另外有研究发现,杏仁核与内侧前额叶皮质体积越小,则预示着兴奋剂使用的增加(Becker et al, 2016. Brain)。

在我校工作以来,Becker教授主持或参与多项国家级、省部级科研项目。除了多次受邀在国际学术会议中报告,Becker教授在20171月出席了由国家外专局主办、李克强总理主持的外国专家春节座谈会,是四川省唯一一位受邀代表嘉宾。
